About Us
Nestled near Cape Panwa in Phuket lies the enchanting Ao Yon Beach, characterized by its unique division created by a rocky headland. Divided into two distinct parts, the smaller section hosts a sprawling shrimp farm yet exudes an irresistible charm, offering a secluded haven with panoramic views stretching across Chalong Bay and Koh Lon.
Under the shade of the treeline, locals gather while children frolic along the western end, where a refreshing stream cascades from the hills, merging with the sea. At the opposite end, a laid-back beach club, The Cove Phuket, beckons visitors to unwind amidst tranquil surroundings.
Venture beyond the hill and around the bend, and you’ll encounter the larger expanse of Ao Yon Beach. Here, it’s advisable to park your vehicle along the main road and meander down one of the pathways leading to the shore.
Ao Yon captivates visitors with its timeless beauty, reminiscent of a postcard-perfect scene: powdery white sands, swaying coconut palms, shimmering waves dancing under the sun’s embrace, and azure waters stretching to the horizon.
Facilities at Ao Yon are minimal, reflecting its primarily residential character dominated by local inhabitants. Visitors will find no designated beach amenities such as changing rooms or toilets. However, arrangements can be made to hire a long-tail boat from a resident beachgoer, should you desire.
Weekends witness Thai families indulging in picnics, taking advantage of Ao Yon’s idyllic setting for leisurely moments in the shade. Respect for the environment is paramount, with visitors encouraged to carry out their waste, easing the burden on local residents tasked with cleanup efforts.
Adjacent to Ao Yon, the Phuket Yacht Club adds to the area’s dynamic atmosphere, attracting weekend activities for local children amid a backdrop of moored yachts. While swimming is a leisurely pursuit, snorkeling is not recommended, particularly near the pearl farms located approximately 150 meters offshore.
Dining options around Ao Yon cater to varied tastes, with a handful of small restaurants and bars dotting the landscape, often affiliated with nearby hotels. The smaller section of the beach boasts The Cove Phuket, renowned for its excellent dining offerings and inviting bar ambiance. Additionally, occasional local food vendors can be found near the stream on the opposite side of the beach, adding to the culinary diversity of the area.
