Tucked away and largely undiscovered, Banana Beach, sometimes referred to as ‘Banana Rock Beach’, remains a hidden treasure in Phuket. Despite its secluded location, this pristine stretch of coastline dazzles with its unspoiled beauty, exuding an aura of secrecy that beckons adventurous souls seeking the allure of a hidden gem.

Spanning 180 meters, Banana Beach boasts crystalline waters that shimmer under the sun’s embrace. During high tide, waves may playfully lap against the tree line, prompting visitors to choose their towel spot with care, with the extreme southern and northern ends offering optimal relaxation.

Nestled between Bang Tao and Nai Thon beaches, Banana Beach is discreetly positioned some 500 meters north of Trisara Villas. Spotting the beach amidst the verdant foliage lining the road requires a keen eye, yet two access points offer entry to this secluded haven. Traveling from the south, pass Trisara and watch for the open barbed wire fence on the left-hand side of the road, marked by a wooden sign reading ‘Banana Beach’. Alternatively, a white metal sign indicating ‘To Nai Thon’, situated 150 meters further, signals a small parking space. Follow the bamboo-lined trail, descending the hill and crossing the river to reach the beach’s northern end. Many opt to rent a long-tail boat from neighboring beaches for a scenic journey to Banana Beach.

Banana Beach beckons swimmers with its pristine waters, ideal for a refreshing dip from November to May, although swimming may be discouraged during the low season due to rough seas. Seek respite under the shade of the trees, where masseuses offer their services for around 300 baht per hour.

A solitary seafood restaurant graces the beach during high season, offering patrons a chance to dine amidst the serene ambiance of the island. While prices may be slightly elevated compared to typical beachside eateries, the freshness of the catch, delivered straight from local fishermen to the beach, ensures a delectable dining experience amidst one of Phuket’s most picturesque settings.
